- Sapa is 1650m above sea level, while Dalat is 1471m.
- The Conical Hat (or Non La) first appeared in Vietnam during the 13th century.
- Former President, Ho Chi Minh was actually named Nguyen Sinh Cung at birth. His named changed several times during his life.
- The Cao Dai Religion, commonly found in the Mekong Delta area, was founded by Ngo Minh Chieu in the 1920’s.
- The Black Hmong people, migrated to the area around Sapa nearly 300 years ago from Southern China.
- 30th April is Liberation Day, the day the North defeated the South in 1975.
