Hung Vuong Complex – District 5 – HCM City
Today my wife and I headed out to the Megastar Cineplex in District 5 of Ho Chi Minh City. The cinema is just like those we have back home in Australia and the pop corn is just as nice as well!
We saw the new movie “Wanted” with a star studded line up including Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman, and James McAvoy. For me, the movie had some great special effects and some really cool music, but thats
where the good points end! Overall I thought Wanted was left wanting in a lot of areas. The story line was far fetched and if it wasn’t for the music and pop corn, I would have fallen asleep!!
The good news is, that after the movie we hit the aisle’s of the department store to find some tasty food on the 3rd floor food court and plenty of upmarket shops to keep you busy for a while. Many are funky brand names with funky price tags, so if your after a bargain go else where!
Hung Vuong Complex is located at 126 Hung Vuong Street, District 5. From District 1 it should take about 15 minutes in a taxi. Movie tickets are 55,000vnd per person, cheaper on Tuesday (40,000vnd), for more info call the cinema on 222 0388 (English and Vietnamese).
