When I first came to Viet Nam, there were many things I was told by local ex-pats that would later turn out to be wrong. I guess I can’t really blame them, it takes a while to get to know a country, and surrounded by clueless tourists I suppose it’s easy enough to get that false sense of security about what is true and what is a common misconception.
